Wyona L. Bunch was the son of Humphrey N. and Julia Ann Frances (Wooden) Bunch. He was born in Morris Township in Carroll County, Missouri.

He married Minnie Edna Barnes on February 21, 1893, in Chillicothe, Missouri. To this union were born:

Myrl Marvin Bunch 1897 – 1898
Ilene B. Bunch 1899 – 1960
Hazel L. Bunch 1901 – 1973
Elwyza Frances Bunch 1905 – 1990
Vesta L. Bunch 1907 – 1982
Leona Fay Bunch 1911 – 1912
Ralph Edward "Jerry" Bunch 1912 – 2002
Howard Lee Bunch 1915 – 1999
Eugene Leon Bunch 1918 – 2000

The family lived in Hill Township in Carroll County, Missouri, until sometime in the 1920s, when Wyona, Edna, and the younger children relocated to Thermopolis, Wyoming. Wyona died there in 1939 at the age of 68.

The following was published in The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, 15 Feb 1939, p. 14:

Wyona Bunch of Thermopolis, Wyo., passed away at 7 o’clock Friday evening following a long illness of a complication of ailment. He had been confined to his home nine months. Memorial services were held Sunday afternoon and interment made at Thermopolis.

Mr. Bunch, eldest of Umphrey [sic] Bunch, was born in north Carroll county where much of his life was spent.

He was married in his youth to Miss Edna Barnes and ten children were born to this union.

The family went to Thermopolis ten years ago where they have since resided.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, three sons, all of whom live in the West, a brother, Neil Bunch of Dawn, and many other relatives.
