An avid golfer and successful businessman, Earl began a tire dealership 46 years ago that grew into six stores on the Gulf Coast and New Orleans.
Mr. Babst was preceded in death by his parents, Louis G. Babst and Katherine Hotstream; his brothers, Louis and Arthur; his infant sisters, Alpha, Ida and Ruth; and his first grandchild, Catherine Landry.
He leaves behind his wife; his daughters, Erlene Bechard and Sandra Landry; eight grandchildren, Mark and Chris Landry, Jackie Nelson, Anne Bechard, Lee Ferguson, Theresa Crider, and Mike and Jim Bechard; four great-grandchildren, Alexandra Nelson, Adele and Bobby Ferguson and Baby Crider. His sense of humor and dedication to his family will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 6th from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, where there will be a Celebration of Life Remembrance by the family at 7 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. by the Recitation of the Rosary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 7th at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi, where military honors will be rendered since Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Reserve, having served in WWII.
