Marion was born July 28, 1923, in Spokane, WA to George and Opal (Talkington) Morgan. The family moved to Colvile, WA in 1926 to operate a theater showing silent movies. By 1937, the family had bought land and built the Alpine Theater in Colville.

Marion and her younger sister Frances attended Colville schools; Marion graduated from high school in 1941. She was active in school activities including band and chorus.

She majored in music at the University of Washington in Seattle and studied the harp. She pledged Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, Iota chapter, where she made many lifelong friends. While at the University, she met her future husband Richard, who was in the Navy. She graduated in 1945 and worked in Colville, assisting with the family business.

Marion and Richard Satterlee were married in 1950 in Seattle, where she began the life of a career military officer's wife. During their Air Force career, there were stationed in Texas, Oklahoma, and Montana. During the Korean Conflict, Richard was serving an overseas tour in Japan and Korea when their older son Kirk was born in 1952. In 1953 the family was stationed at McChord AFB in Tacoma, where their son Keith was born in 1955.

The family moved to Hawaii in 1959, to Virginia in 1962 and back to Hawaii in 1966. During their last tour in Hawaii, they retired from the Air Force and eventually settled in La Canada, California.

"Marion Dee's remarkable life was one of love and devotion", a family statement noted. "She loved life and her family. She was liked, loved and respected by all who knew her. Popular and talented, she had many close friends. To her husband, she was a best fried, girlfriend and sweetheart for 68 years."

Besides her husband of 62 years, she leaves two sons, Kirk and Keith, Kirk's wife Judy and their two children John and Colleen.
