Thelma Inez McGuffee, 80, of SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Greeneville, formerly of Plaza Towers, died Wednesday at Takoma Adventist Hospital.

Mrs. McGuffee was formerly employed in retail.

She was a member of Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.

She was a daughter of the late Archie Lee and Bertha Maybell Lewis Hobbs.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Alta M. and the Rev. Gene Cannon; five grandchildren and special grandchildren-in-law: Bryan W. and Jenna Cannon and Andrew E. and Cindy Cannon, all of Greeneville, Patricia M. and Brian Ward of Cleveland, Brenda J. and Bart Dapkus of Clinton, and Sheri M. and Dominic Ferrara of Divide, Colo.; eight great-grandchildren: Molly M. Burnett, William Joseph Burnett, Justin A. Cannon, Rachel D. Cannon, Bobby R. Ward, Janey M. Ward, Phillip A. Cannon, Stephen M. Cannon; and a brother: Earl E. Hobbs of San Jose, Calif.

She was preceded in death by an infant son: J.L. McGuffee.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 Friday morning in the funeral home chapel with interment in Mount Tabor Cemetery. The Rev. Buford Metcalf and the Rev. Roy Shelton will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Cannon, Andy Cannon, Brian Ward, Bart Dapkus, Jeff Underwood, and Danny Cutshall.
