Doris V. Anderson, age 84, resident of Shelby died Sunday November 18, 2012 in MedCentral Shelby Hospital.
Born June 16, 1928 in Shelby to Jack and Alice (Sipes) Robb, she had been a lifelong Shelby resident.
A 1946 graduate of Shelby High School she was formerly employed with the Shelby Salesbook Co.
She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church. Doris enjoyed playing cards,sewing, baking and Sunday family dinners. She was a strong supporter of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and will fondly be remembered by her family as saying " I'm a stubborn old lady who used to be a redhead!"
Survivors include her husband James D. Anderson whom she married June 14, 1950; two sons James A. "Scoot" (Natalie) Anderson of Ashland and Mike (Cathy) Anderson of Shiloh; one daughter Amy (Al) Bartosiak of Shelby; eight grandchildren Josh, Micah(Jenny), Emily, Matt(Heidi), Michael (Tina) Anderson, Molly White, Aric (Kenda) Cornette and Abbey Bartosiak; seven great grandchildren Mylie, Jacob and Grant Anderson, Ella and Maisy White, Anderson "A.J." and Adelynn Cornette. two sisters-in-law Jane Anderson of Shelby and Julie Beech of Cresco, PA. and other relatives.
In addtion to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Jack Robb. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Friday November 23, 2012 from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend David Sipes, her cousin, will officate.
Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial expressions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Shelby Athletic Boosters
