In March of 1923 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jordan. To this happy union were born two children.
When a young man of twenty, he came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and found great joy and delight in the fellowship of God's children
Early this past summer his health began to fail and gradually became weaker until on January 2nd he suffered a severe heart attack and was then rushed to the Osceola County Hospital in Sibley, where all that medical skill and tender care were administered for his recover. It pleased the Lord to call him home at about noon on January the ninth.
He leaves to mourn his departure his beloved wife and two children, Jacob and Evelyn and one grandchild, eight sisters, Mrs. Helen (Helmer) DeBerg; Mrs. Jennie (Martin) Kruse; Mrs. Nancy (George) Bloem,; Mrs. Martha (Mynard) Kruger; Mrs. Tillie (Henry) Schulte; Mrs. Lena (Andrew) Wagner; Mrs. Grace ( Carl) Krammer) and Mrs. June (Otto) Ranken, besides a host of relatives and friends.
