Dorothy Mae Bishop was born June 27, 1919
in the Neuschatel, Kansas area. She was the
oldest daughter of Frank and Cecile Bishop.
In 1921 she and her parents moved to a farm
south of Frankfort and remained in the Frank-
fort area while she was growing up.

Dorothy had two sisters, Evelyn Lorriane, and
her youngest sister, Marie Maxine, who died
at the age of two.

Dorothy attended the Frankfort schools,
graduating in 1937. She enjoyed horseback
riding, playing the violin, 4-H, sewing and
playing on the "Sullivan Sluggers" girls
softball team.

On February 14, 1939 Dorothy married Owen
Robert (Bob) Jones at Manhattan, Kansas. To
this union three children were born; Larry
Allen, Carol Jean and Gary Lynn. They lived
in the Frankfort Powhattan and Formosa areas
before moving to Western Washington in July
1953.

Dorothy was a very loving and caring mother
and grandmother. She is survived by her
Husband, Owen Robert (Bob); the children,
Larry (Mary) Jones Puyallup, Washington,
Carol (Chris) Robin, Lakewood, Washington,
and Gary (Shelley) Jones, Alamogordo, New
Mexico; nine grandchildren and one great-
great-granddaughter and her sister Evelyn
Stauffer, Summer, Washington.

Memorial services were held on Sunday,
January 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the New
Tacoma Cemetery
