Juan was survived by his wife Theresa, whom he married on April 21, 1956; children: Mary Lou Quintana, RoseMarie Quintana, Andrew Quintana; grandchildren: Lisa Chavez, Christina Chavez (companion John Paul Trujillo), Rikki Giron, Francesca and Estevan Madrid, Rebecca and Robbie Quintana; great-grandchildren: Christopher Chavez, Jasmine and Kaylee Trujillo and several nieces, nephews and friends.
On 30 June 1942, Juan Estevan (B: Pastura), a resident of Las Vegas, registered for the World War II draft. He was described as 5' 6", 140 pounds, light complexion, brown eyes, and black hair. Next of kin was recorded as Epifania Quintana (draft card). On 9 Nov 1942, Juan enlisted in the US Army.
Juan enjoyed playing guitar, taking his daily ride in his truck, fishing and joking. Juan will be remembered by his friends and family for giving everyone personal nicknames. Juan retired from the West Las Vegas School District after 25 years of service. His sense of humor and personal life experience stories will be greatly missed.
A Rosary and devotional services were on 25 April 2012 at our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Funeral Mass was on 26 April 2012. Interment was on 27 April 2012 in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Kenny Medina, Tom Gonzales, Leroy Urioste, James Baca, Rick Romero and Pete Gallegos.
