ELYSIAN, MN — Lola Evelyn Antl, age 93 of Elysian, died on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at her residence in Elysian.
Born on August 1, 1909 in New Richland, Minnesota, she was the daughter of John and Minnie (Krueger) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland and also attended grade school, high school and teacher's training in New Richland. She taught rural school for 13 years and then graduated from Mankato State College with a BS Degree in Education and a Kindergarten Certificate. Lola taught kindergarten in Elysian for 13 years.
She married Marvin Louis Antl on June 15, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. Marvin and Lola lived in Elysian area all their married life except when they farmed in Alliance, NE from 1948 to 1950. During her lifetime, she taught Sunday School, was secretary and president of the Lutheran Woman's Missionary League, was a 4-H Leader and served as past President of the Band Mother's and PTA and served as secretary and treasurer of the Le Sueur County Home Extension. She enjoyed giving humorous monologues at various functions, watercolor painting, reading and watching the Minnesota Twins. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville.
She is survived by one daughter, Marlys Boyum and her husband Roger of Elysian; two grandchildren, Kevin Boyum and his wife Beth of Roseville, CA and Sally Miller and her husband William "Bill" of Jacksonville, FL; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Edna Hebl and Irieva Newgard.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2003 at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville from 4-8 p.m. and continue on Monday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. David Mumme officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
