Robert Munford Sinclair is the 3rd son of Margaret Ann Munford and John Sinclair of Gloucester County, Virginia. He has ten siblings. He married Rowena Matilda Baytop on June 6, 1855. Robert was a gentleman's farmer and planter. He and Rowena have 5 children- (four girls and one son)

Robert Sinclair Dead

Brave Confederate Soldier answers last call at age of 81 years

Mr. Robert Munford Sinclair, who served gallantly in the Confederate Army, and a man widely known in Elizabeth City and Gloucester Counties, died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Sinclair, near Hampton Sunday night at 10 o'clock. Mr. Sinclair was born in Gloucester County eighty-one years ago, but spent the larger portion of his life in Elizabeth City County. He was a brave soldier and a man of splendid character.

The surviving children are: Mrs. Cecil Sinclair, Mr. Fay Sinclair, of this county; Mrs. E. C. Garrett, of Baltimore; Mrs. A. T. Wiatt, of Gloucester; and Mrs. T. B. Paschall, of Searcy, Ark.

Funeral services will be conducted from the residence of Mr. Cecil Sinclair at 10:30 o'clock this morning Rev. Reverdy Estill, D. D., rector of St. Johns Church, officiating. The body will then be taken to Thorpland, York County, for interment.

The pallbearers will be Messrs. Roy Sinclair, Junious Brown, Thomas Sinclair, Norwood Jones, Claiborne Sinclair and Edwin Curtis.
