Albert E. Barsch, 78, of 712 15th street, died at 2:30 a. m. today at his residence after a lingering Illness. Born Jan. 18, 1873, In Oshkosh, he was a life resident of the city. On April 27, 1899, he married Miss Helen Marquardt. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1949.

Mr. Barsch was a machinist by trade and before his illness was employed by the Bell Machine Company.

He sang in the choir of Peace Lutheran church for many years. He was a member of the former Oshkosh Marine band and served as bugler for soldiers leaving for the Spanish- American war although he was not a veteran. He was a member of Peace Lutheran church.

Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Hansen Jr and Miss Lorraine Barsch, of Oshkosh; a son, Norman Barsch, Route 4 ; one granddaughter, Vicki Hansen; and a number of nieces and nephews. A son, Alvin, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at S o'clock at Marquardt funeral home, with the Rev. M. David Fetter officiating. Interment will be in Peace Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and until time of services.
