HANS E. BRANDT, 59, VETERAN HOSPITAL CHEF, SUCCOMBS

Stricken Suddenly Easter Morning While Directing Breakfast.

Hans E. Brandt, 59 years old, for fifteen years chef at St. Joseph's hospital, died suddenly Sunday of a heart attack suffered while he was superintending the preparation of breakfast at the hospital.
Altho Mr. Brandt had complained of not feeling well, neither he nor his family had thought his condition serious. Easter morning he went to work as usual. He fainted after he had got the plans for dinner will under way and the breakfast nearly ready to serve. Efforts made to revive him were fruitless and he died without recovering consciousness.
Mr. Brandt was born in Denmark in 1871. He came to the United States in 1899, bringing with him his wife and family. After a few months in Texas he came to Denver. Trained as a chef in his fatherland, Mr. Brandt followed that trade until his death.
Mr. Brandt leaves his widow, Mrs. Matilda Brandt, 1737 Franklin street; five daughters, Mrs. Katherine Langdon, Denver; Mrs. Ellen Radecliffe, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Ruth Charon, Bingham Canyon, Utah; Mrs. Margaret Whitehead, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Bertha Remick, Oklahoma City; a son, Christian Brandt, Los Angeles, and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the Olinger mortuary, with the Rev. George F. Sevier officiating. Interment will be made at Crown Hill cemetery. All of the out-of-town children are expected to come to Denver for the funeral.
