DEATH TAKES MRS. SARAH A. WALKER HERE.

Funeral Services Will Be Held at 2 P. M. Today From Home on Creswell St.

Mrs. Sarah Anna Walker, 81, a native of Caddo Parish and resident of Shreveport for 40 years, died at 8 p.m. Monday at the family home, 3828 Creswell street, following illness of several days duration.

The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday from the home, with the Rev. M. E. Dodd officiating, assisted by Rev. D. A. Youngblood of Baton Rouge, a relative of the deceased. Interment will be in the Greenwood cemetery.

Pallbearers will be G. A. Frierson and six nephews of Mrs. Walker, namely: Dr. John A. Hendrick, W. N. Hendrick, A. G. Hendrick, H. M. Nicholson, C. A. Nicholson and A. L. Hendrick.

Mrs. Walker, who was a member of one of the oldest and best known families of northwest Louisiana, is survived by two daughters, Miss Mary Walker and Miss Caroline Walker; one brother, H. Y. Nicholson, and one sister, Mrs. S. B. Hendrick, all of Shreveport. Her two daughters reside with Mrs. Walker.

Mrs. Walker was born at Summer Grove, May 17, 1852, the daughter of Angus Nicholson and Mary Youngblood. Her father was a prominent planter of Summer Grove. She married Dr. Alexander Spann Walker of Spring Ridge, a prominent physician of that community, which was her home until after Dr. Walker's death, when she moved to Shreveport, which ever since was her home.

She was a member of the First Baptist church.
