Mr. Wes was a native of Smith County and was the son of the late Ernest Westmoreland and the late Belle Brewer Westmoreland. He is a Veteran of the US Army where he served during the Korean War and received many honors. He has lived the past 16 years in Brandon and retired at the age of 80 after a career spanning five decades in the lumber and building material industry where was known by all as "Mr. Wes". He was a member of Flowood Baptist Church and memorials in his memory may be made to the church building fund.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Hester and sisters, Evelyn Arnold, Edwina Ivy and Marilyn Tadlock.
Mr. Wes is survived by his wife, Betty Westmoreland; son, Delton E. Westmoreland, Jr.; grandchildren, Michael and Tiffany Westmoreland and Callie Lancaster; great grandchildren, Lucy and Emersyn Lancaster and sisters, Nell Harrison of Mize and Johnnie Arender of Raleigh.
