SOUTH BEND, IN. - Lindsay Marshall Minelli, 18, of 2101 Cedar Street, South Bend (formerly of Elkhart), died at 7:52 p.m. Monday (June 11, 2001) at the Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, following a brief illness. She was born on August 16, 1982, in Elkhart, to John L. and Brenda M. (Marshall) Minelli.

Surviving are her mother, Brenda Marshall Minelli of South Bend; her father, John L. Minelli of Elkhart; two sisters, Marin M. and Elizabeth M. Minelli, both of South Bend. Also surviving are a grandmother, Shirley M. Marshall of Elkhart; and grandparents, Anthony L. & Laura Minelli of Elkhart.

The visitation was held from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home & Crematory, where there was a vigil service at 5:30 P.M. Visitation was also held one hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. service Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart. Fr. Bill Sullivan officiated.

Lindsay was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in South Bend and a former member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart. She graduated this month from Marion High School in Mishawaka where she was active in various clubs, and was a former member of the tennis team.

Memorials may be given to the Leukemia Society of America.

Lindsay Minelli died at age 18 in 2001 after being diagnosed with MDS. Lindsay’s father, John, established this loving tribute to honor her memory. “If this research helps in some small way to find a cure, other families will be spared the pain of what we experienced,” said John. “This is for Lindsay”
