Death of Sergeant Crupper
Acting Sergeant R.S. Crupper of the Metropolitan Police, died on Saturday about four 0'clock. His funeral took place Sunday at two o'clock and was attended by the members of the force. Sergeant Crupper was a Kentuckian, and served three years in the Union Army, in the 15th Kentucky Infantry. He was a faithful officer, and much esteemed by his associates.
His name was reported as R.S., that was a typo and should've been R.H. His full name was Richard H. Crupper.
Enlisted in Company H, Kentucky 15th Infantry Regiment on 14 Dec 1861. Promoted to Full 2nd Lieutenant on 08 Jan 1862.
Promoted to Full Captain on 15 Mar 1863.
Mustered out on 15 Jan 1864.
