Lillie Belle Talkington is the daughter of Chesterfield Berkley Talkington and Hester Adline Harkey. She was born in Pope County, Arkansas.

Lillie Belle & her husband, William Pleasant purchased 100 acres in Pope County, Arkansas in October 1891. In 1896, they purchased 70 acres. They farmed and ran a grocery in Russellville, Arkansas. In 1898, they ran a grocery and a post office in Terrell, Arkansas.

They moved to Plainview, Texas and built a hotel, "The Daily Hotel." In 1911, they moved to Floydada, Texas and built the "Commercial Hotel which had 21 guest rooms." This hotel was still owned and operated by a granddaughter in the Daily family. This hotel was renamed The Lamplighter Inn. At one time, they owned a 14 room home for their family.

She and William were devout christians, belonging to the Baptist church.

Their daughter, Harriet died in 1932 in an auto accident in Huntington Park, California. Another daughter, Adline died in 1966 with leukemia. Lillie Belle died in 1948 in Floydada, Floyd, Texas.
