29 May 1998: Frank Arthur Wormood, 80, died Wednesday in Abilene hospital. The body was cremated. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today in Anson First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Loren Gardner officiating, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Wormood was born in New York and graduated from Brewster Academy in Wolfboro, N.H. in 1935. He was a navigator and instructor with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Dorothy Castles in 1946 in Anson and lived in Odessa for many years. He worked for Forest Oil in Odessa and Shell Oil in Midland until retiring and moved to Anson in 1977. Survivors include his wife of Anson; one sister, Jean Cross of Rochester, NH; several neices and nephews.
