On May 7, 1857, in this county, Jacob Burger was united in marriage to Veronica Fager, who was born in the grand duchy of Baden, in Germany, August 20, 1829, and who came to this country alone in 1853. After more than forty years of happy married life, she died on July 19, 1898. Jacob Burger survived his wife for nearly twelve years, his death occurring on March 12, 1910.
