PARALYSIS CAUSES DEATH
Former Louisville Woman Succumbs to Illness.
Suffering a stroke of paralysis Wednesday night, the contributory cause being Bright's disease, Mrs. Ellen Bauer, who was the wife of Charles V. Bauer, died yesterday afternoon at 2:00 at her home, 421 West Market Street, Jeffersonville. She had been under the care of a physician some time and her health was bad, but she was able to be up Wednesday. That night she became unconscious and did not rally. Mrs. Bauer had been a resident of Jeffersonville ten years and came her from Paducah, where she had lived some time, although Louisville was her home many years.
Mrs. Bauer was born in Louisville, February 22, 1860, and was a daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Benton [sic]. She was married to Mr. Bauer twenty-nine years ago. Besides her husband her only survivor is a son, Charles Bauer, who resides in Detroit and will arrive in Jeffersonville today. Mrs. Bauer was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Jeffersonville. The funeral will be Saturday afternoon and burial at Cave Hill cemetery, Louisville.
