" Alex Self, 68, a resident of Dallas for the last fifty years, died Sunday in a hospital in Marshall, Harrison County, after a long illness. He was born in Forney and was the father of Dr. R.A. Self, who owns a veterinary hospital in Oak Cliff. Self's home was at 802 North Oak Cliff Boulevard. He had worked for the Texas & Pacific Railroad for the last forty-four years, and at the time of his death Self was chief claim agent. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lamar & Smith Funeral Chapel, 800 West Jefferson, and entombment will be in Hillcrest Mausoleum. Surviving besides Dr. Self are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Newsom of Dallas and Mrs. Doris Sasse of Austin."
