Mrs. Susan M. Hoyt, 79, of 330 Watch St., a lifelong resident of Elgin and South Elgin, where she was born April 26, 1870, died yesterday afternoon in the Mary Margaret rest home, 105 N. Gifford St.

Surviving are a daughter, Verna of Elgin and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Moses Hoyt, died in 1923 and she was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Fitzsimmons and five brothers, John, Charles, Henry, William and James Fitzsimmons.

A member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Mrs. Hoyt also was a member of St. Ann's society of the church, of St. Joseph's Hospital auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors.

Services are to be held Friday morning at 9 from the late home to St. Mary's church at 9:30. Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:30 in the home, 330 Watch St., where friends may call after 10 tomorrow morning. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery.

Susan Fitzsimmons, the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth Cavanagh Fitzsimmons, married Moses K. Hoyt on March 2, 1897.
