Son of James Alexander Bennett and Sarah Ann (Wright) Bennett. His first wife was Ruhama Sabine "Bina" (Hamric) Bennett (1868 - 1893). Rev. Bennett and his first wife had the following children; Lettie, Jason and Francis Bennett. He then married Ellen Rebecca Hamric Bennett.
Cause of death: Stomach cancer.
Occupation: Baptist minister.

Children of Rev. James Francis "Fran" Bennett and Ellen Rebecca Bennett: Susie May Bennett, Owen Bennett, Golda Bennett, Noah Bennett; Good Bennett, Lee Bennett and Ruhama Sabine "Bina" Bennett.

The Rev. Fran's death certificate accurately identifies Sarah Ann Wright as his mother, and the marriage record of James Alexander & Sarah Ann Bennett states that J.A. Bennett's father was named William. The Sherman Township, Calhoun County census of 1870 and that of 1880 show a James Francis as a son in the household of James A. and Sarah Bennett. The informant listed on the Rev. Fran's death certificate is his second wife, Ellen (Hamric) Bennett, who married him a good 13 years after James Alexander Bennett's death, so she would never have actually known her father-in-law and it appears she got confused and got his name wrong.
