She was born April 28, 1936, in Middlefield, the daughter of Burnice and Mildred (Gillette) Gage.
She was married to Alfred Boutin. He died Dec. 25, 1997.
Margaret had been a waitress at the Neptune Diner, Oneonta, from 1986 to 1990. She was also involved in the operation of the Harpersfield Diner in the mid-1980s. A resident of the greater Oneonta area for most of her life, Margaret enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening. She also enjoyed many meals at Christopher's on Southside Oneonta.
She is survived by two sons, Brian P. Hosier of Syracuse and Daniel J. Hosier of Meridale; several brothers and sisters; and her eight grandchildren, Karrie Hosier of Meridale, Sarah Hosier of Meridale, Cherilyn M. Hosier of Oneonta, Bradley Hosier of North Carolina, Lacey Hosier of Oneonta, Cameron P. Hosier of Syracuse, Tyler D. Hosier of Syracuse and Nicole Shaughnessy of Liverpool. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Nia Marie Garcia of Meridale, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, from the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Frank MacCracken Sr., retired pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the South Valley Cemetery, South Valley.
Friends may call at the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening, Aug. 4, 2000, when the family will be present at the funeral home.
