Lena was the first wife of George Pepperdine, the founder of Pepperdine University. She died tragically of Psittacosis ("Parrot Fever").


PEPPERDINE. In Honolulu, January 18, Lena Rose Pepperdine, aged 41 years, beloved wife of George Pepperdine and mother of Esther Louise Pepperdine of Los Angeles and Florence May Crossley of Honolulu.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, at 2 p.m., in Peace Chapel of the Kiefer & Eyerick Mortuary, 314 East Harvard street, Glendale. Interment, Forest Lawn.
