Elton Manthei Sr, 94, of Robinson, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14, at Littlepage Funeral Home in Mart with Pastor Ludy Manthei officiating. Burial followed in St Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery in Marlin.
Elton was born in Malone, TX, to the late Karl and Ida Manthei. On April 24, 1943, Elton married Esther Lange, and they were together for 68 years. Elton proudly served in World War II and was a mechanic and welder for most of his life. He was a resident of Robinson for many years.
Survivors included his wife, Esther; sons, Elton Jr. and wife Edwina of Mart, and Gary and wife Brenda of McGregor; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
