Mr. Johnson was born on May 25, 1925 in Willmar, MN, the son of Emil and Hulda Adell Johnson and his parents are deceased. He married the former Donna Maxwell in Rankin on October 14, 1945 and she preceded him in death on February 1, 1995. He then married Edna Bokker Alberts on January 9, 1999 and she died on November 10, 2002. He then married Frieda Peters on July 20, 2005 and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and Tim Clark of Peoria; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Mary (Moody) Johnson of Greenville, SC and Michael and Sheryl (Boudreau) Johnson of St. Anne; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter, Lindsey Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a retired farmer and farming was his passion and his hobby. He belonged to the Zion Lutheran Church in Ashkum and formerly served on the church board. He belonged to the Ashkum Lions Club and was also a former member of the Ashkum Twp. Board of Supervisors. He was very community minded and had been a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood Ramp Builders.
