Bob Brink helped Martin and Louise move to Fremont and witnessed their marriage there. Family sources say they operated a restaurant there until Louise developed scarlet fever and the health department shut them down. After that they moved to California, where Louise worked as a cook at logging camps.
She spent her last 15 years in Ione, California and last worked as a cook at a place called "The Grants".

Her name and dates also appear on a monument at Elmwood Cemetery in De Witt, with her 1st husband.
