Funeral services for Orvilla Lois "Pinky" Pupp (nee Pinkowsky), 87, a resident of Friendship Village since 2004, formerly a resident of Schaumburg since 1986, will begin with prayers at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Michaels Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, proceeding to a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Schaumburg.
Internment will be in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 11, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born May 5, 1923, in Oneida County, Wis., to the late Louis and the late Marie, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family April 6, 2011, in Hoffman Estates.
Pinky was a dedicated registered nurse for over 30 years and began her career as an Army nurse during World War II. She ultimately managed the Renal Dialysis Unit at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was proud to have worked on the Schaumburg Mayor's Committee for the Aging and the Credit Union Committee at Elmhurst Hospital. She was a member of the Resident's Board at Friendship Village and was instrumental in planning the beautiful gardens around Friendship Village and was an active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.
Orvilla was the adoring wife of 39 years to the late Anthony;
loving mother of Nancy Rogers (John "Jack" Bedlek), Thomas (Cheryl), Susan Graney and the late William (Michele);
dear grandmother of Vicki Bedlek, Steven and Brianna Pupp, Megan and Krista Gregg, and Lauren and Brooke Pupp; beloved sister of the late William, the late Arthur (the late Irene), and the late Leona (the late Raymond) Winnie; and she will be missed by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Orvilla's name to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Foundation.
