Leta B. Selk, age 88, Nixa, passed away peacefully at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, September 10, 2007. Leta was born on May 30, 1919, in Clever, Missouri, to David Clarence and Myrtle Elizabeth Pope. She attended local schools in the Clever area. Leta moved to Southern California in the early 1940s, where she worked as a welder in the shipyards during World War II, then moving on to work for North American Aviation in Downey, California, where she retired from. Her love of Clever, Missouri, brought her and her husband back in the late 1970s. Leta was preceded in death by her husband, Obert J. Selk; and is survived by her children, Michael DeMonbrun (Dianne), Jana Selk (Mike), and James Selk (Tony); grandchildren, Jammie, Karrie, Shara, Kayleen and Stephanie; great grandchildren, Alec and Alexis; sister, Jackie Little (Gerald).

A memorial service Thursday, September 13, 2007.
