Edna Youtsey Ruiz
Edna Youtsey Ruiz of Casa Grande passed away on June 18, 2009, at the Hospice Compassus. Edna, born May 14, 1937 in Florence, was a Law Librarian at the Pinal County Courthouse for 40 years.
On Monday, June 22, there was a visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with a Rosary Service following. Mass was held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 23, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Florence, with a one-hour visitation prior to the celebration. Father Charles Cloud officiated. Interment was at Florence Cemetery.
The family was assisted by J. Warren Funeral Services.
Edna enjoyed singing, in the church, especially; and also loved reading, dancing, traveling, painting and sewing. In her diversity, she also enjoyed playing volleyball, softball and golf, and watching movies and the Phoenix Suns. She played the piano and the violin, and sang with the Mariachi Fiestas in Tucson. She was a devout Catholic, who loved her family and friends, children, and home.
Mrs. Ruiz was preceded in death by her father, Albert Youtsey, and her brother, Richard "Dickie" Youtsey. She is survived by her husband, Arnulfo Ruiz of Casa Grande; son, Michael Ruiz of Casa Grande; daughters, Kristi Ruiz Perez and Sabrina Ruiz Chacon, both of Casa Grande, and Patricia Lyn Ruiz Martin and Mitzi Ruiz Moreno, both of Phoenix; her mother, Aurelia Youtsey of Coolidge; brothers, Danny Youtsey and Andy Youtsey, both of Coolidge; and sister, Dora Henry of Coolidge; as well as 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a loving, caring and devoted wife of 53 years to Arnulfo "Canaco" Ruiz and will be forever missed.
