Cobb- Leo Doyle, age 70, of Cobb, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 1983 at the Americana Health Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. He was born on August 1, 1912, in Lafayette County, the son of John Doyle and Sarah O'Brien; and was a lifelong Lafayette and Iowa County resident. He was a member of the Iowa/Grant Tavern Keepers League, and operated Doyle's Bar in Cobb for the past ten years.
He is survived by two sons, Melvin Doyle of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lester Doyle of Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Rolland (Mary) Miller of Floodwood, Minnesota, and Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Purkapile of Evansville; a stepson, Leslie Benson, of Brodhead; 22 grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Doyle of Darlington, Lawrence Doyle of Belmont; and three sisters, Mrs. Will (Elige) VonGlahn of Benton, Mrs. Leona Fink of Darlington, and Mrs. Eleanor Rock of Mineral Point. He was preced in death by his second wife, Gladys; a son, Bob; a daughter, Mary Catherine; two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, at 10 am from the McGinley Funeral Home in Dodgeville. Friends may call on Friday, May 20, from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Truman cemetery in Truman, Wisconsin.
