James F. Durst, 79, passed away September 23, 2003 in Roseville, Calif.

James was born July 19, 1924 in Texas. He lived in Laton from 1937-1963. He was a resident of the Sacramento area since 1974, currently residing in Citrus Heights, Calif. James served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

James was the loving husband of Christine of Citrus Heights; loving father of Jim Durst and wife Joyce of Grass Valley, Calif., Kathy Durst of Fairplay, Calif. and Jannette Chapmen of Citrus Heights; loving grandfather of Christopher, Melissia, Steven, Andrea, Tiffany and Heather; loving great-grandfather of Johnathan, Kayla, Jacquilynn, Bradley, Trevor and Travis; and loving brother of Mary Bell of Fresno. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, September 28th at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 North Douty in Hanford.

Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 29th at Laton Pentecostal Church of God, 6066 East Riverdale Avenue in Laton. Burial followed at Grangeville Cemetery in Armona.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Valley in Citrus Heights, Calif.
