As a child, Mary was called by her middle name Alda; however, as she grew into adulthood, she preferred to be called by her first name Mary.
On April 11, 1948, Mary was wedded to Darrall Alexander Bradley in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her brother Henry and his wife Ruby were in attendance. The marriage was a difficult one and Mary was left as a single mother to raise her growing family of Mary Judith, Barbara Anne and Richard Stephen.
On June 6, 1970, Mary was again wedded in Las Vegas, this time to Alvis Lee Ferguson, known as "Pete" to family. Mary's family soon included three more children: Gerald Thomas, Johnny Lee, and Robert Duane.
Pete and Mary were divorced on August 17, 1982.
Mary was a hard worker who was generally the primary wage earner in her family. Life was sometimes difficult, but she persevered to raise her children to adulthood.
For many years the family lived in Orange County, finally migrating to Riverside County, where Mary passed away on June 20, 1988. Mary was cremated and her ashes were scattered over the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California.
