Arthur J. Walters, 69, of Rolling Hills Road, Greeneville, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 11:20 a.m. at his home.

He retired from Magnavox, Five Rivers, and North American Philips after 38 years of service. He formed and performed with the Gospel Group, Still Waters.

He was a member of Wayside Free Will Baptist Church where he served as song leader and deacon as long as his health permitted.

He loved working in his garden and flowers, spending time in his work shop creating furniture and crafts for family and friends, and he enjoyed antique cars.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years: Glenna Cannon Walters; son and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Ginger Walters of Kingsport; daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Keith Housewright of Greeneville; grandchildren: Dustin Wilhoit, Seth Wilhoit, Jessica Larkin Walters, Tyler and Whitney Housewright; brother: Wallace Walters of Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law: Charlotte and Charles Crouch of Greeneville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Nick and Anita Cannon of Greeneville; and nephews and nieces: Charles Paxton, Keith Paxton, Sheila Bible, Jeffrey Walters, and Tyler Cannon.

He was the son of the late Hickory Arrow and Beulah Jackson Walters.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Leonard Cutshaw and Rev. Jerry Williams will officiate.

Interment will follow at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Graceland Memorial Gardens. It is requested that family and friends who would like to join the family for the committal service, meet at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession.

His pallbearers will be Dustin Wilhoit, Seth Wilhoit, Keith Housewright, Charles Paxton, Keith Paxton, Nick Cannon, Lynn Ricker, and Kyle Swatzell.

Members of Wayside Free Will Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
