KINGSTON, Okla. - Ralph Bryan Gillen, 61, a retired General Motors employee, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at a Dallas hospital.

Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Ralph Bryan Gillen was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Fort Worth, where he graduated from North Side High School. He was a former longtime resident of the Fort Worth area and retired to Lake Texoma after his 35 years' service at General Motors.

Mr. Gillen served in the armed forces. He was the 1956 national bull-riding champion and was also a marathon runner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Gillen and Eupha McDaniel Gillen.

Survivors: Wife, Alta Jo Gillen; son, Caleb; daughters, Kim, Carrie, Linda, Lora and Angie; sons-in-laws, Terry, Virgil, Bobby, Don and Doug; brothers, David, Jack, William and Ted; sisters, Martha Ann and Veta Jo; grandchildren, Kevin, Kara, Samantha, Justin, Kayla, Keith, Gene and Bryan; and great-grandchildren, Victoria, Krysten and Wade.
