Jones County, GA- Clara Lavender Moxley, 97, of Debbie Drive, died Thursday, November 08, 2012, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 10, 2012, graveside at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens, with Mr. Tommy Byrd and Pastor Bo Turner officiating.
Mrs. Moxley, the daughter of the late Luther Lavender and Maggie Stevens Lavender, was born in Gordon on November 11, 1914, and had lived in Jones County for the past thirty-seven years. She worked as a bookkeeper for J. C. Start Sheet Metal and loved playing golf, knitting, crossword puzzles and her pet dog, Tina. Mrs. Moxley was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Moxley is survived by her husband: Thomas William Moxley, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law: Anita Weaver and George Byrd; grandchildren and spouses: David Byrd, Tommy and Evelyn Byrd and Lisa Byrd McDonald; and by five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Hospice Advantage, 3902 Northside Drive, Suite B-3, Macon, Georgia 31210 or to Laurel Baye Healthcare, 505 Coliseum Drive, Macon, Georgia 31217.
