Son of Jedediah Dinwiddie (1805-1864) and Mary "Mollie" Anderson (1810-1845. Served the CSA in Co. I, 5th Tennessee Infantry (Later 2nd Co. F). Was wounded along with his brother Madison "Matt" Bagby Dinwiddie at the Battle of Atlanta. Both were transferred to a hospital and A.A. died two weeks later. Brother, Robert Baker Dinwiddie, a color bearer was also killed at the same battle.

The information regarding his rank (Sgt) and first name is from the "Civil War Questionnaires" completed by the only surviving brother, Madison Bagby "Matt" Dinwiddie.
