NORTON, VA - James C. Lane, 65, known by all his road buddies as "Trucker", went home to be with Jesus Wednesday, May 25, 2011, following a lengthy illness. Waiting on him with open arms were his grandson, Jake Aquino, his mother, Virginia Carter Lane, a sister, Wilma Lane, his maternal grandparents, Pat and Ellen Carter, and his paternal grandparents, Hobart and Kate Lane.

James was of the Baptist faith, and attended Pendleton's Freewill Baptist Church in Rye Cove, VA.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Blanton Lane of Norton, a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Jose Aquino, Kingsport, TN, a step daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Shane Morgan, Big Stone Gap, VA, a step son, Keith Senopole, Jonesville, VA, his father, Orbin Lane, Gate City, VA., a brother, Larry Lane and his wife, Teresa, Fort Blackmore, his sisters: Barbara McMurray and her husband, Gorman, Rogersville, TN, Wanda Cowden and husband, Jerry, and Lynn Wolfe and her husband, Scott, all of Fort Blackmore. His six grandchildren are: Nathan Aquino, Joseph Aquino, Gabriel Aquino, Sarah Morgan, Ali Morgan, and Sophia Morgan. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Friday, May 27th at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Terry Rhoton and Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
