Funeral services for John C. Flake, 67, who died Friday at his home near Gaston after an illness of several months, will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Ebenezer Methodist Church near Poole's Mill Road, The rites will be conducted by the Rev. Clyde Hendrix, pastor. Interment will be in the churchyard.

Mr. Flake was a retired farmer and had been a lifelong resident of Lexington County. He was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow Mrs. Kizzie Blackwell Flake; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Light, Pelion, Mrs. Mary Moorer of Dixiana, Mrs. Rowella Schumpert and Mrs. Bessie Harsey of Gaston; six sons, Eddie Flake and Festus Flake, both of Pelion, Millard Flake of College Place, J. C. Flake, Jr. of Leesville, Edward J. Flake of Fostoria, Ohio and Harvey Flake of Gaston; one sister, Mrs. Julia Jeffcoat of Perry; one brother, Edward J. Flake of Salley and 28 grandchildren.
