Earl H. Cline, 72, of 436 E. Patrick St., Frederick, died at the Washington County Hospital Tuesday afternoon after an illness of two weeks. He was born in Frederick County, the son of Lemuel H. and Berta Shaffer Cline. He was the husband of Lettie Hutzell Cline.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Chuch of Boonsboro. He was self-employed as a general contractor in Frederick for the past 46 years.
He is survived by two sons, Gerald E. Cline of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Nevin E. Cline of Mt. Pleasant; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Hoffman and Mrs. Mary Ellis, both of Youngstown, Ohio, Mrs. Gladys Ausherman of Hagerstown and Mrs. Rachel Wagner of Boonsboro, four brothers, George W. Cline of Boonsboro, Carl L. Cline of St. James Village, R. James Cline of Wallingford, Pa. and Paul W. Cline of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Frank E. Helsel officiating. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services for Earl H. Cline, a Frederick County contractor who died at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Tuesday, were held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Frank E. Helsel, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Boonsboro officiated.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Stitely, Russell Kaufman, Thomas Bowie, Howard Cline, Robert Cline, Nevin Cline, Jr. and Michael Cline, all four grandsons. Interment was made in Boonsboro Cemetery, Boonsboro.
