He was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Littlefield and attended school in Fluvanna. He had worked as a lineman for BK Electric in Seymour, Bill Farley Electric of Abilene, the city of Brownfield Electric Company and Testor's Inc. of Brownfield. He was a Baptist and a song leader for many years.
A daughter, Roxie Lynn, died in 1973.
Survivors include a son, Larry of Seymour; a daughter, Charlotte Miller of California; two sisters, Pat Montgomery of Fort Worth and Mildred Wilson of Grand Prairie; four brothers, Roy Lee, Willie and Gradie, all of Slaton, and Raymond of Mansfield, Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
