Samuel D. Dixon, 78, 850 Linden Ave., Celina, died at 9:08 a.m. Friday. March 14. 1986 at Joint Twp District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. He was born Sept. 4, 1907, north of Wabash, Ohio. He was the son of Virge and Pearl (Swartz) Dixon. He married Lillian K. Heil, who survives, on July 17, 1926. Other survviors include a son, Sam H. Dixon of Celina, three grandchildren, and two sisters. Audra Plummer of Celina and Margaret Lewis of Philadelphia, Pa. He was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina, a 50-year member of the Lodge 241 F and AN, a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite of Dayton, a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite of Dayton, a 50 year member of the Antioch Temple of Dayton, a member of the Mercer County Elks, a member of the Shawnee Country Club, a charter member of the Celina Lions Club, and served on the Board of Directors for Citizens Commercial Bank and Trust for 39 years. He joined his father in the automotive businss in 1926, at that time having a franchise of the Auburn. He was one of the charter DeSoto dealers, and also had Willys and packard. He served on the Detroit Zone Dealers Council for Pontiac, Buick, and Cadillac. A private funeral will be held Monday at the Stein Lehman Funeral Home in Celina. The Rev.John Witaker will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Swamp College Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be given at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The preferred memorial is the Mercer County Heart Association and the Mercer County Cancer Society.
