A coroner’s inquest will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the highway death. The inquest will be conducted by Coroner James M. Jackson at Crescent City.
Mrs. Bise died Wednesday in Glendale Hospital. She suffered fractures of both legs, right arm, hip and pelvis, fractured skull and internal injuries when she was struck Sunday by a car driven by John E. Darling, 22, a sailor of Cecil Field Naval Air Station, Florida.
Mrs. Bise was reportedly walking on Highway 17, a mile north of Pomona Park, about midnight, when the accident occurred. Darling said the glare of headlights of oncoming vehicles made it difficult to see Mrs. Bise. Palatka Daily News, Friday, 8 Apr 1956.
Burial of Mrs. Bise is being delayed while an effort is made to locate relatives, Quincy H. Masters of the Masters Funeral Home said today.
Mrs. Bise was a native of Merseburg, Germany, coming to this country in 1913. She had lived at Pomona Park, where her husband died a few months ago, for the past five years, coming from Akron, Ohio. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Friday, 13 Apr 1956.)
