Alfred Vincent Filippelli, age 90, of Norwalk, died on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Born in Calabria, Italy, the son of the late Achilles and Luisa (Perri) Filippelli, he came to America when he was 3 years old. Alfred was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (Tassi) Filippelli. An Army veteran of W.W.II, he was a carpenter and tinsmith, retired from DeRaffele Dining Car Manufacturers.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Claudia Filippelli and Mary Ruggiero, and 2 sisters Matilda Natarelli and her husband Andrew, and Gilda DiPol and her husband Bruno.
Graveside Services will be held at 10 am on Friday, November 9 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. His family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 7pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk.
