Graveside services were held 2 PM, Monday, May 29, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Edsel Young officiating.
Mrs. Young was born October 16, 1923, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Lonnie & Bertie Fussell Pridgen. She farmed in Coffee County until moving to Fitzgerald in 1960. She worked as a machine operator for The Champion Company and Fitzgerald underwear. She loved working in her yards and planting flowers. She was a member of New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church and attended Eastside Holiness Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Junior & Opal Pridgen of Wray along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Edward Young; a sister, Rudy Dean; and three brothers: R.L. Pridgen, Walter Pridgen, and Wayne Pridgen.
