Michelle Suzanne Corron-Barber, also known as "Mitch" or "Mo" to close friends, was born in Corning, CA on December 12, 1967. She was married to Michael James Barber, the love of her life, in Minden, Nevada on October 31, 1994. She passed away to cancer in her home in Capay on March 26, 2012, at 44 years of age.

Michelle's life was as large as her smile. A 1986 Hamilton High School graduate, Michelle was quite the athlete and scholar. Homecoming Queen, she also played basketball, volleyball, and softball. She earned her AA from Butte College, where she also played basketball. She worked for CDF as a firefighter, which is where she met her future husband. Later she worked as a Dental Hygienist. Michelle would go out of her way for anyone. She reached out and touched many lives, from neighbors to friends and family. Michelle brought cookies to her tax preparer. She was often the first to be at the side of a hospital bed. She always brought her smile and sense of humor with her. Married on Halloween, she was known to drive her VW van with a "squished witch" on the front, and to walk through Winco dressed as a pirate before embarking on a sailboat "treasure hunt" at the Forebay with young family members. She knew how to extract the FUN out of life's moments. A handwritten Emerson quote taped to her refrigerator sums up her views well: "It is not the length of life, but depth of life."

Michelle was an avid volunteer and caregiver. She often donated to Locks of Love. She was a special friend to many: the elderly, children, and any wayward critter two, four, six, or eight legs didn't matter. Michelle would drive to the grocery store and come home with a stray cat who had jumped in her truck. She would often use live traps to catch and doctor/ "fix" strays. She held a deep passion for animals, especially felines. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Dr. Dana at Walker Veterinary Clinic, 512 Walker Street, Orland, CA 95963.

Michelle was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Corron of Missouri. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Barber; parents, Erma & Sherrell Corron of Capay; stepdaughter, Christa Marquardt, her husband, Rob, and their sons Colin and Carson of Alaska; stepson, Kelly Barber and his daughters, Emily and Jessica of Davis; brother, John Corron, his wife Margaret, and their daughters, Jennifer and Rebecca of Chico; brother, Joseph Corron, his wife Laurinda, and their children, Camber, Nichelle, Bryce, and Kayli of Chico; sister, Melissa Garton and her children, Jerome, Chris, Anthony, Cody, Summer, and Satina of Reno; nieces, Sarah, Ashley, Bessie Lou, and nephews, Jeffrey, Joshua, and Matthew; numerous aunts and cousins; close friends; and her four beloved cats: Cooper, Funny Face, Moose, and Fruitcake.
