She was raised in Southern Clay County in the Wakefield area. She married Andrew Broden on January 8, 1944 in Topeka and he survives. She worked for Sykes Department Store in Leonardville until moving to the farm north of Clay Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and a brother.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 2:00PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3 from 10:00am until service time.
Memorials can be made to Meadowlark Hospice c/o funeral home.
