ROME DAILY SENTINEL, THURSDAY EVENING, OCT. 20, 1892
Mrs. Charlotte Hume Andrews, wife of Lieut. Henry M. Andrews, died on Wednesday afternoon at the military headquarters of the Department of the East on Governor's Island, aged about 37 years.
The news of her death is a sudden and sad blow not only to her bereaved husband and children, but to a large circle of friends who loved and admired her many good qualities. She was a daughter of the late Professor Hume of Brooklyn, noted in the science of electricity, who died three or four years ago.
She was a highly educated, cultured lady, and was married to Lieut. Andrews about sixteen years ago. The surviving children are five boys, the oldest of whom is fifteen years old, and an infant daughter two weeks old. Merritt Andrewa of this city, father of the bereaved husband, left here to-day to attend the funeral.
