Irene Mae Krueger

A lifetime Tacoma resident died peacefully Jan 24, 2001, surrounded by her husband and 8 children. She was 76 years old.

Born Nov 9, 1924 in Puyallup, the daughter of Leonard and Ada Marcoe. Irene attended Holy Rosary grade school and St. Leo's High School in Tacoma. Besides her passionate love for her family, Irene enjoyed many trips to the ocean and fresh salt air. She was a longtime member of the TOPS organization, holding many positions.

Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, James; daughters, Sandra Caliva, Lynda Warren and Claudia Dommel; sons Jay, Gary, Tom, Greg and Daniel. Irene has 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Leonard Marcoe of Tacoma, numerous nieces and nephews.

Public viewing will be at Piper-Morely-Mellinger Funeral Home on Sunday, noon to 7 pm, followed by recitation of the Rosary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Visitation Catholic Church on Monday, Jan 29th at 11 am.
